I'm a young, solo female traveler who is just going from Berlin to Baden Baden and spending the night at a hostel strictly to sleep before I take the train to Baden Baden.
I saw the 5 Elements Hostels is a 3 minute walk from the train station. I am arriving late at night at almost 11PM. I am a bit nervous about the area especially since it will be late at night in an area I'm unfamiliar in, carrying a suitcase so obviously I will look like a tourist. This will be on a Friday evening. Is there a fairly large security or police presence? I'm someone where when I am lost, I look obviously lost.
So plan a cleverer itinerary and stay at a better hotel in a better location. You must have money to blow if you plan to gamble at the casino. I would hardly describe the casino in Baden Baden to cater to undesirables.
Do prostitutes and junkies line up next to the casino? You bet! But it's still safe, as most of them are doddering "retired millionaires" At Bahnhofsviertel the prostitutes work in brothels, not on the street. And there are way more casinos than brothels. Hmmm haven't heard anything about the junkies and hookers waiting right next to Casino Baden-Baden until now.
No offense, but imho one should not use such disparaging vocabulary, especially not when speaking of people you know nothing about in a foreign country. Oh please, just let this thread die. The area is fine.
