The 7pm raid on Thursday Feb 21 saw 11 officers storm the premises which boasted heavy security measures, including remotely controlled doors, numerous CCTV cameras and hidden doors behind mirrors. Immigration Department director-general Datuk Indera Khairul Dzaimee Daud said the door between the first and second floor was hidden behind a mirror to confuse law enforcement officers.
He added that the brothel was popular with a mostly international clientele, mainly from Belgium, Iran, Japan and Korea. Along with the 15 women, who were from Vietnam and Indonesia, three men, including two Myanmar workers and a local man who was the supervisor of the brothel, were also nabbed.
