Paralympian James Fox has returned to his home rowing club in Peterborough after winning gold in Rio this September. A man who stabbed his victim with a machete at a flat in Peterborough has been jailed for 12 years.
Following a struggle, Nicholson threw the man into a glass cabinet and stabbed him several times in with a machete. He was later arrested in London and was found to be in possession of wraps of cocaine and wraps of heroin.
He was sentenced to 12 years for grievous bodily harm with intent and five years for the drugs offences to be served concurrently. During this visit he got into a scuffle with another man and launched a frenzied attack with a machete.
As a result the victim suffered life changing injuries which have affected his mobility. The Chief Executive of Hinchingbrooke Hospital says that no services will be cut despite fears that a planned merger with Peterborough Hospital would see clinics and departments moved. Lance McCarthy says the hospital will be able to provide more services, but campaigners are worried about patients being put at risk.
